The Status of Ethiopian Government Institutions Public Relation Practice: a Case of Amhara Revenue Authority

Abstract

Public relation is the art and social science of analyzing trends, predicting their consequences, counseling organizational leaders, and implementing planned programs which will serve both the organization and the public interaction. Within this framework, the study was conducted in the qualitative research design. It is specifically a kind of case study that examines about Ethiopian government institutions’ public relation activities from a typical case of Amhara Revenue Authority PR department. Through structured interview, document analysis and observation, a deep analysis was made in light of the different presumed public relation activities. In this regard, the major PR activities, the role of PR practitioners, the organizational crises and corporate identity management are identified from the findings.
